Why does Manchester United wanted Guirassy
Serhou Guirassy is a 6’2 Guinean pure striker currently on fire for VFB Stuttgart. With 17 goals in the Bundesliga on second to Harry Kane, and leading Stuttgart to 3rd in the league. This is exactly the type of player that Man United needs. A big, pure striker that can score goals any way he wants. Obviously Hojlund is a great talent and I think that he can be great one day. Although he is still young and a very raw talent. So a player like Guirassy who is 27 and can score goals at will would be perfect. He is cheap at only €17 million and a great role model for Hojlund to develop. Sources say that Guirassy likes the idea of a move to United but he would like a summer move rather than a winter one. I think that this would be in the best interest for united anyways so Guirassy would have more time to settle in Manchester. I think another benefit of Guirassy is that he would not be a long term player with him being 27 years old and Hojlund could still claim that starting role. Guirassy would also be on a lower wage and that goes toward SIr Jim Ratcliff’s plan going forward, but these are all the reason that Man United and Ten Hag want Guirassy at United.
How would Guirassy fit into the team
Serhou Guirassy is lighting up the Bundes League right now and there is a reason why. He likes to hang around the top of the box which makes him wide open for cut backs. Let me break this down for you guys. When the winger is coming down the side and taking it into the box. The defense will continue to move back towards the goal. So when Guirassy stays at the top of box he gets open at the top. So the defense now have 2 options. They can either stay up with Guirassy or they can continue to back up with the winger. So even if Guirassy doesn’t get open he creates space for other players. He will create space for Garnacho to dribble in the box and Rashford to get his shot off. He is also a great player for Hojlund to learn from. Hojlund and him can share that role for around 2 years until Hojlund elevates to that next level and takes his spot. Guirassy would not be a long term starter on the team but very good for short term. Hopefully after Hojlund elevates to that next level he would be great off the bench. All this for €17 million, is no wonder that Man United are desperate to get him in.
