Rashford’s time at Man United
Rashford has been a very polarising player with his time at United. Rashford broke into the first team at just 17 years old and won United fans over. He netted a brace on his debut against Midtjylland and a star was born. He also netted on every single other one of his debuts. His premier league debut against Arsenal he got a brace, in his FA and EFL cup debut he scored one, then on his debut for England he again netted one. He was faster than anyone and had a rocket of a shot like Ronaldo. He was very versatile, being able to play as far back as left mid and as far up as striker. In his first 4 seasons he was great and was scoring all kinds of goals. Then when he got to the 19-20 season is when Rashford claimed his word class status after scoring 17 goals in the Prem and knocking PSG out of the champions league on a last second penalty. Then in the next season he proved his worth by scoring 11 in the league. He was also a huge part in a team that finished second in the league.
When the next season came however Rashford struggled. He only put up 4 goals in the Prem and that is when a lot of people started saying that it was time to move on from Rashford. It looked like Rashford has started to fall off but in the next season he proved everyone wrong. He scored 17 goals in the league and had 30 in total. He was one of the best players in the world and it looked like he was back on track. Rashford started this season with high expectations and he just didn’t meet them. He so far hasn’t been scoring and has always been lazy. He hasn’t been getting back on defence and has been coming off the bench. So now this gives you some context into why I am writing this.
Why Man United need to sell Rashford
Just like I said in the last part Rashford is lazy. He just stands around and waits for the ball. He doesn’t make runs and only stands there looking to cut in. Rashford can not make overlap passes or really any passes. With Garnacho coming through now and in my opinion Garnacho is already better than Rashford, its time to move on. PSG are the leading contenders to get Rashford as they have been hunting him down for years. I think that Man United could squeeze €80 million out of PSG for Rashford. If they can get that it should be a no brainer to sell. They could have Garnacho on the left with more freedom and an extra €80 million on their transfer budget. In a perfect world with that money the would get Olise for the right wing, Joao Neves in the midfield. Then also get a CB like De Ligt or Branthwaite and then maybe Theo Hernandez. That would improve United so much over having Marcus Rashford and that’s why I think that Man United should sell him.
